I have just tested 180.44 on my compaq dual core where I installed kubuntu amd64 yesterday. At the first run after enabling the driver it started fine, but after 10-15 mins. it froze. On reboot the freeze took me even before login. I've got a GeForce 7300LE .
So it seem this is affecting Ubuntu as well.
