I'm curious what form the choppiness is - does it sounds like the normal where the app isn't catching up or is it more of a 'pop' sound; it's just that I filed a bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/350274 where I'm getting popping sounds and I was wondering if this happened more when new windows were created or some scrolling happened. (I'm not running compiz at all).
