Can you please give is the exact command you tried?
For the record, it should be "sudo dpkg --configure -a" (without the
quotes).
** Package changed: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) => dpkg (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: dpkg (Ubuntu)
