should stay off for Intrepid and Jaunty.

Reproducer:
  sudo dd if=/dev/kmem of=/dev/null bs=4k count=1

Expected results:
  dd: opening `/dev/kmem': No such device or address

Results on Intrepid and Jaunty:
  dd: reading `/dev/kmem': Bad address
