@Peter: I also have a Dell 1535 that has been affected by this bug, but last night I built the patched driver from broadcom website (as dg explains above), and everything is 100% good now. I can suspend/resume over and over, multiple times, and NetworkManager keeps on associatin' :). I haven't experienced any freezes yet.
I added wl to the list of DISABLED_MODULES in /etc/default/linux- restricted-modules-common, tossed my new wl.ko in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ somewhere, ran depmod -a, rebooted, and everything was dandy. thor:~$ uname -a Linux thor 2.6.24-23-generic #1 SMP Mon Jan 26 00:13:11 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux thor:~$ cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 8.04.2 \n \l HTH, -duck -- Broadcom STA/wl driver causes random kernel panics https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292450 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
