Public bug reported:

I run Kubuntu 9.04 beta with all available updates installed (April 4th
09) on a AMD ATHLON X2 7750 with a GeForce 6100PM-M2 Mainboard and an
Onboard Soundchip which uses the HDA NVidia ALC662 Soundchip

I sometimes get the following Error: The audio playback device ALC662
Analog (HDA NVidia) does not work. Falling back to ALC662 Digital (HDA
NVidia)

In the System Settings the ALC662 Analog works fine but the ALC662 Digital and
the PulseAudio do not produce any output. Accordingly - falling back on ALC662
Digital means - no sound.
I can resolve the issue by logging out once.

The problem seems to appear (most of the time) when more than one
program tries to use the sound output device. If I log on with an
additional user I always get the error, no matter what other programs
are running for other users.

Hope this helps

as for the rest: awesome job I love it

Cheers
