I was running the nvidia 180.37 and later the 180.44 driver. Also with the 180.37 driver I had the same problem, which is strange because in the Alpha 6 of Kubuntu Jaunty i didn't have any problems at all. It's only happening in the Beta version of Kubuntu 9.04, so i don't think it's related to the nvidia drivers.
