I'm currently doing some tests with the newer drivers which are just in userspace for that device. This would avoid having to recompile the driver everytime http://mcentral.de/wiki/index.php5/DVBConfigFramework it's not published yet but it also adds support for MacOSX by using the same driver even! the drx3975d driver is not part of the em28xx-new package anymore and will be distributed with that new system again (this solves all the legal issues with trident (Micronas sold the chip division to Trident recently)).
