I had this (#3) happen again, and this time I managed to SSH into the affected machine and saw that Xorg was consuming roughly 66% and imwheel was consuming 33%. I killed the imwheel process, and Xorg instantly became more responsive. Changing the package to imwheel instead of xorg-server.
** Package changed: xorg-server (Ubuntu) => imwheel (Ubuntu) -- xorg consumes CPU, scrollwheel stops working, applications stutter/freeze after 2-3 hrs of usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355150 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
