Public bug reported: - I have a Packard Bell EasyNote BG45-U-041 laptop. - The Network Manager desktop icon states "Wired network connection 'Auto eth0' active" - Unfortunately, firefox cannot connect to the internet. Error message = "Address Not Found" - Unfortunately, Synaptic Package Manager cannot connect to the internet. When I reload package information, I receive Error messages that start with "W: Failed to fetch" - This particular problem DID NOT occur in Ubuntu Hardy Heron. However, it DID occurre in Intrepid Ibex as well. In the latter case, great help from the Dutch Ubuntu community did not resolve the problem. - If I right-click on the network manager desktop icon, it states:
