Thanks for reporting this issue. Could you please attach the entire
/var/log/syslog.?? from the installation? Also, what version of Xubuntu
was the existing /home from?
Please make sure Applications -> Settings -> Settings Manager ->
Desktop, "Behavior"tab, the icons have check marks for those you wish to
see on the desktop.
