Public bug reported:

I am currently finding that the gnome NetworkManager Applet tells me I
have "No network connection" even when I am connected. The network
connection is a Marvell Yukon gigabit ethernet which uses the sk98lin
driver.

I have only just started getting this problem so it might be connected
with the fact that I am trying various hand-rolled kernels based on the
edgy kernel sources, so I have a feeling that this may have something to
do with it.

Something else that happened today which might be relevant was that the
first time I got the "No network connection" message the network in fact
wasn't working, no matter whether the
System-->Administration-->Networking control panel said it was or not.
In that case I had compiled sk98lin into the kernel rather than as a
separate module.
