Okay.  This will seem a bit odd, but do you have an nvidia card you could
experiment with?  I want to file an upstream bug about this, because the one
other person that this happened to (that I know about) that didn't have it
resolved by removing mythphone had an ATI card and had tried both the open
source and proprietary drivers.  He was on an R200 series card.  Myth
crashes left and right.  He popped in an nvidia card, installed those
drivers - and it worked like a charm.
