Public bug reported:
At the moment when running xfce, every application that is using X
-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain in its .desktop file is shown untranslated in
Xfce-menu, -appfinder and thunar properties. To fix this, I'm attaching
a patch that works for me, but may need some additional work/testing.
