This is only partially correct: The dapper (and the edgy) package *still* depends on tetex-base in general and not on tetex-base(>=3.0). This is normally not a problem since the tetex-base package in dapper/edgy has the right version. However, it is in principle possible to install the dapper/edgy pgf package together with an older tetex-base version and thereby rendering tikz (part of pgf) unusable. Note that this bug has been fixed in the latest debian package. Regards, Marcel
