Nick, these log files do exist, but they are both empty. I just used a ubuntu package, I didn't build mythtv myself. I don't remember seeing an error logging option, although I didn't look for one.
After installing mythtv, I never really used it. After spending ages trying to get my obscure tv tuner working with v4l, I went to bed because it was late. I didn't have any need to watch TV, and I didn't give it much thought for the next few days. I noticed that there was heaps of disk activity, but I am new to EXT3 (and linux, I have used freebsd exclusively for nearly 5 years), and I just assumed it was an fsck or something. After approximately 3 days, I realised that the disk activity was still present, and I decided to find out what was causing it. That was when I found mythtv-backend was the problem, and I removed it from my system entirely, after killing the process. -- Constant hard drive activity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
