** Description changed:

  I am using Ubuntu Jaunty.
I tried the suspend stress test and it failed at the first resume. It
restartet after suspend, but the backlight did not turn on.
After a restart apport did not do an error report, so I have to to it
manually. I will answer the questions listed in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume#Information%20Gathering
and add some information like dmesg lspci and lsusb. Tell me what else I could
add.

The problem occurrs everytime I try to go in standby.
With Jaunty standby mode never worked, but in i think I remember, with a
prior version it did. Maybe with gutsy. Can't remember.
  Hibernate works fine.
+ "sync; echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace; pm-suspend" gives me just a "0" after
the freeze with black screen.
