I am seeing this with Jaunty beta amd64. Fully updated as of a few minutes ago. KDE 4.2.2 Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) This is on a Lenovo X61 Tablet plugged into the dock. I am not sure if this still occurs when I have it undocked and without an external monitor. I'll try that later to see what happens. The external monitor is a 24" Dell LCD. The resolution it sets my system to is 1152x864. I am also unsure if this only happens at login or if it is a fresh boot thing. I'll attach my X.org.log file in case it holds any bits of useful information.
