I had a look at Windows' control panel: it points out a conflict between
ATI SMBus and a certain "high precision timer", which I suppose to be
clocksource related. This is probably a consequence of a BIOS bug, but
the average user will think "Windows boots and Linux doesn't, which
means Linux sucks". This is precisely what Ubuntu is trying to avoid...
