I'm not interested in using fglrx now the -ati drivers are "working", but I think it's important that there's a clean and obvious upgrade path for people who used fglrx for these cards in intrepid. It is not obvious that one must uninstall the fglrx-kernel-source package to get a working system.
Assuming that the X lockup is unavoidable, could the -ati driver detect the fglrx kernel module is loaded, produce a useful message and bail out rather than doing whatever it is that causes the system to lock up? That'd at least give people a clue how to fix this issue... -- fglrx "No devices detected" on Radeon Xpress 200M and Radeon Mobility X1400 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357705 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
