Just in case, plasma gets frozen from time to time when the laptop is switched from Powersave to Performance energy profile. To give more accuracy to the report, it seems that it happens when plasma tries to activate the desktop effects. If I set the energy configuration to not activate effects when switching to Performance, everything works well.
