you can also try this.

 Linux ATI Radeon Drivers.

 Here you go follow just like it says to or it will not work right. (
and no terminal is not terminal)

1. Install Linux, if you have not already done so.   (if you have already 
installed drivers for your card in Linux and they are not working see step #11 
on the How-To.)
2. Go to http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx and download 
drivers to your desktop.
3. On desktop text upper left side go to /System/Admin/Hardware drivers and 
enable card do not restart at this time.
4. On desktop text upper left side go to /Applications/Accessories/Terminal
5. Type   ----------->      cd Desktop
6. Type   ----------->      dir
7. Type   ----------->      sudo ./ATI_DRIVER
8. Install driver
9. Wait a long time
10.Restart

 11.On desktop text upper left side go to /Applications/Accessories/Terminal
        type   ----------->     sudo apt-get --purge remove
        go back to step #2.
