Public bug reported:
This issue occurred about a week ago.
I got an error when I copied files to my USB drive, deleted the files I
copied from (i.e. the files on my internal hard drive), emptied the
trash and dismounted my USB drive.
Anyway, the key thing seems to be that I deleted the source files before
it was done copying them, and it let me delete them without forcing the
copy to finish first.
All my partitions are Ext4 (including on the flash drive). This was on
the 64-bit Jaunty Jackalope beta. I suspect this has something to do
with a feature of Ext4, but this seems like something the operating
system should be able to work around easily enough.
EDIT: Oh, yes, the files copied to the USB drive were either not usable
or not completely copied (that's what the error was). I don't quite
remember the result in its entirety, but it seems it should be easily
reproducible. I recommend trying it with a slow flash drive, using semi-
large files (more than one; they don't all have to be large).
