With Kubuntu 9.04, google-earth hangs when zooming in fast on a location. If
performed slowly, Zooming in and out is possible for a while but after a while
google-earth definitely will hang.
Then, only the mouse cursor can be moved, but no other action is possible
anymore. Shells are not accessable anymore and only resetting the system helps.

As the the same google-earth version works fine in Kubuntu 8.04 with the
latest fglrx driver (Katalyst 9.3) I suspect that the open source radeon
driver of Kubuntu 9.04 might be responsible for the problem.

Kubuntu 9.04 amd 64 latest packages as per April 9th, 2009 with radeon open
source driver
google-earth package 5.0.11337.1968-0medibuntu7
Radeon X1250 graphics card
