Under 9.04 the problem appears to be a little different. If I select 'Guest Session' from the icon at the top right of the screen, the display blanks, then reappears momentarily greyed out, then disappears. Shortly afterwards I get a login window, but for the normal user (not for user 'guest').
I can then enter the password and log back in, but now I notice the icon at the top right of the screen has disappeared, leaving a blank gray space. Further, Apport indicates a crash has occurred, and clicking on it pops up a dialog box that reports: 'Problem in Xorg Sorry, the program "Xorg" closed unexpectedly Your computer does not have enough free memory to automatically analyze the problem and send a report to the developers.' My machine has 3 Gb RAM (actually 4 Gb but Ubuntu can't use it all) so I find the memory issue a bit unlikely. -- Selecting 'Guest session' from Fast User Switch applet locks up laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311984 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
