The bug status reflects the development version of Ubuntu, not previous releases. To get a fix included in a previous release, we follow the SRU process[1]. However, in this case we have very little information on this crash or what it is caused by, and yours is the only report of this issue. This means it would not qualify for a SRU, as it is not a high- impact bug.
If you require the Jaunty version of virtualbox-ose in Hardy, you may wish to request a backport[2]. Thanks again for your help with this report.
