Hi James,

Can you attach your dmesg output without using any of the additional
boot options your first dmesg contained?  Can you also comment if this
issue existed with any of the previous Jaunty kernels or even an earlier
2.6.27 Intrepid kernel?  I mainly want to know if this is a regression.
It might also be good to test the latest upstream mainline kernel and
see if the issue still remains there or may have been resolved.  The
Ubuntu kernel team has started packaing mainline kernel packages -
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds .  Please let us know your
results if you test.  Thanks.
