(I myself have an HP printer with an ordinary Intel PC) Quickly glancing through the logs you provided, I can't see any particular sign of failure. Apr 5 14:41 & 14:43 shows your printer being registered normally via uhci_hcd The fact that it's being registered via uhci_hcd strongly suggests that this is *not* a USB 2.0 printer. The HP website lacks any technical documents, so it's hard to say for sure. (It's possible that the printer comes up as USB 1.0 and requires firmware to allow it to use USB 2.0 - have you configured this?)
