me too(tm) wvdial on /dev/ttyUSB0 works fine, first time. NetworkManager needs multiple tries before it works. If I've tried NetworkManager, I have to unplug/replug the modem before wvdial will work again. /dev/ttyUSB0 stops echoing AT/OK.
