I fixed the bug for myself by recompiling the kernel removing the faulty serial ATA drivers and adding ATA drivers for my box. I will leave this open as I would like guidance in sending this information to the right people to get it fixed. I assume it is upstream but I would prefer not to bother them until someone here looks at it. PLEASE PLEASE just take a look at what is going on so I can get my information to the right people.
