Rene, This is a great solution - thank you very much indeed.
I assume that there will be a fix for the upgrade as there must be a lot of not very computer literate Ubuntu users wondering what on earth is going on! Not good for Ubuntu credibility. Thanks again Nigel -----Original Message----- From: Rene <[email protected]> Reply-to: Bug 359518 <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: [Bug 359518] Re: acroread failed to update in 8.10 Date: Tue, 14 Apr 2009 19:49:50 -0000 hi everybody. In addition to previously proposed commands 1) # dpkg -P acroread or 2) # apt-get remove acroread this issue can also be solved simply through synaptic for those who have some difficulties with command line: open synaptic, search for acroread, and remove packages directly related to acroread and coming from medibuntu repository (version 8.10). then install the acroread package from jaunty. I solved my issue this way, which is easier to find all related packages, that may cause later conflicts with the new jaunty package. -- acroread failed to update in 8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
