I don't know exactly what the issue could be, but here are some hints. First, the wacom and font error messages can be safely ignored; I think they come in as part of the default xorg.conf. They don't cause X to fail to start.
Second, you don't need to use xinit to start X. At this point, I'd probably suggest doublechecking that the stuff X has detected for your hardware - the Monitor and the Device sections - are correct. Check the resolutions and HorizSync and VertRefresh with your hardware manuals. Try setting your DefaultDepth to 16. Check that your video card really is an Intel-based chipset. The output from lshw might be useful.
