This puts the cart before the horse. langnames.inc is actually autogenerated from other sources, and everything will work a lot more smoothly if you do things in the right order. The scrape-console-setup change should be made elsewhere first, and "ky" is not a valid keyboard layout name anyway; according to http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard- config/tree/symbols/kg it should be "kg". Finally, the translation should be done in Launchpad (http://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/gfxboot-theme- ubuntu/+pots/bootloader) rather than sent to me in a bug report. The first step in adding a new language to Ubuntu at the installer level is to get d-i (the Debian installer) translated in Debian. This is a well-documented process: http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/doc/i18n/ Once you've done this, you can contact me (preferably by e-mail to [email protected] or by IRC as cjwatson on irc.freenode.net) and I can then arrange for the necessary bits to be updated in Ubuntu. ** Changed in: gfxboot-theme-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: gfxboot-theme-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Assignee: Colin Watson (cjwatson) => (unassigned) -- ky (Kirghiz) locale support https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
