Public bug reported:

I'm looked on other fourms or anywhere else and I haven't seen anyone
with the same problem I have so I decide to post this. When I open
Firefox, the process events/0 seems to take 99.9% of my CPU and just
stays there and my notebook PC will basically stop responding. I tried
killing the process and I got no errors, but the process is still
running. Typically I can reproduce this with running Firefox. It also
happens less frequently when just having a window open. I can run
terminal all day with no problems. Removing the cpufreq modules helped
me with this issue before, but I've had to reinstall and now removing
the modules doesn't seem to help much. Everything runs fine in regular
gnome session, but not in the XGL session. I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 gnome
on a 1.4Ghz Celeron M, 128Mb ATI Radeon Xpress 200M video card, 1Gb
memory notebook PC. It would be greatly appreciated if someone can give
me some insight.
