blkid has the bad practice of updating a file in /etc (blkid.tab). This is annoying and against the spirit of <a href="http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html#ETCHOSTSPECIFICSYSTEMCONFIGURATION";>FHS</a>.
