Tried a couple things: 1.- Calling "xrandr --auto" which is what I do when connecting external monitor. No apparent effect.
2.- Pluging USB keyboard with Spanish layout while I was using laptop's UK layout: Crash! /var/log/messsages: kernel: [10973.133671] usb 3-1.1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 10 kernel: [10973.380509] generic-usb 0003:413C:2010.0008: input,hidraw1: USB HID v1.10 Device [Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub] on usb-0000:00:1a.0-1.1/input1 kernel: [10973.457585] usb 3-1.3: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 11 kernel: [10974.252116] xfce4-xkb-plugi[11585]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f1fa0b01c60 sp 00007fffac938e38 error 4 in libc-2.9.so[7f1fa0a81000+168000] /var/log/X.0.log: (II) config/hal: Adding input device Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub (**) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: always reports core events (**) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: Device: "/dev/input/event12" (II) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: Found keys (II) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: Configuring as keyboard (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub" (type: KEYBOARD) (**) Option "xkb_rules" "evdev" (**) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: xkb_rules: "evdev" (**) Option "xkb_model" "pc105" (**) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: xkb_model: "pc105" (**) Option "xkb_layout" "es" (**) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: xkb_layout: "es" (**) Option "xkb_options" "lv3:ralt_switch" (**) Dell Dell USB Keyboard Hub: xkb_options: "lv3:ralt_switch" And the layout has been automagically switched to Spanish, probably that triggered an event for xkb-plugin. My xfce4 (not plugin) keyboard layout configuration is _not_ "using system defaults", and I defined there manually the two layouts I need. -- xfce4-xkb-plugin crashed with SIGSEGV while hotplugging USB keyboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323178 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
