If you install the beta version of -intel (2:2.6.3-0ubuntu2 or so) does
X start correctly?
If it does work, then it would be helpful if you could boot each of the
versions between 0u2 and 0u9 to see which introduced the regression.
If it doesn't work, then it may not be -intel that has caused the
regression.
