Sorry for the delay. HDD replaced. I can confirm that without the nvidia driver the machine resumes successfully. As soon as the proprietary nvidia driver (173) is activated the resume hangs.
However, when running the suspend_test the machine does not automatically resume after 20s as advertised. Only after I press the power button the machine resumes and the test script continues.
