After booting my HP NC8000 laptop PC, I go to Places--> Computer and
double-click on the CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive shortcut. When I do this, I get
  the following error message:

  Unable to mount location
  Can't mount file

There is also a DBus error message that pops up when I place a data disc
- in the CD drive. I also cannot open DVD or CD Audio discs and get the
- same error as above:
+ in the CD drive.
