Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

So I tried to use Kubuntu Jaunty RC LiveCD on 3 different machines and 2
different Access Points and KDE4 NetWorkManager failed horribly - HP
Mini (Broadcom WL module was loaded automatically) , HP 6910p (Intel
4965AGN) , Macbook Pro2,2 (ath9k).

Clicking on the SSID of my wireless network resulted in add network
dialog first. After adding all the details, it was followed by 2 more
unexplainable dialogs asking for the same network credentials. Upon
entering the credentials and clicking OK instantly there was a
notification that connecting to the network had failed. This whole
sequence was repeated each time I clicked on the SSID in list.

Opening the Manage Connections dialog - I found that same network was
added for as many times I had attempted to click on the SSID! Selecting
and removing the network resulted in blank screen - no VT switch
possible, no other interaction possible. Had do hard reboot.

I dared to do the installation on the Macbook Pro and the on-disk
install and this time around I was able to connect after going through a
similar sequence for few times but it constantly lost connection to the
AP and spewed warnings about having active connection but an empty
connection list or something like that. (The lost connections are due to
ath9k I am fairly certain - that got relatively better after upgrading
the kernel to 2.6.30-rc2 but the speeds were horrible - will file
another issue for that.)

Wonder if people are actually using Kde4 network manager and if yes
under what circumstances.
