I got the theme here: http://www.gnome- look.org/content/show.php?content=30859 I use Ubuntu Edgy on a good ol' i686. And no errors at all I'm afraid. One thing, on the link above they state that it "Requires clearlooks or ubuntulooks engine.". I'm wondering if the engine it is using changes the scrollbars? That might be it, but I don't know gtk enough to say, so its a shot in the dark.
