I was going to ignore this, but seeing the change in description, I can't resist:
Before my comment, the bug was last touched in 2006-07-29, i.e. 2.5 years ago. The original bug reporter, with all due respect to your high karma, never bothered to come back every 6 months to just post a 1-line comment saying "this is still present in Gutsy/Hardy/Intrepid" etc. I realize that reproducing one specific bug might seem trivial. However, you're making one wrong assumption here: The reporter's time is scarce and valuable. The triager's time is infinite and cheap. Triagers should install ALL packages and reproduce all 45k bugs in launchpad, instead of asking reporters if the issue is still there. It's just my opinion, that the above assumption is wrong. From experience (just yesterday I touched ~100 bugs like this) most people will just respond "No, it was fixed some time last year, you can close it", or they will never respond. However, if you feel that Bugsquad has lots of triagers, and too few reporters, so we should leave the reporters alone and load the triagers with work, feel free to continue this strategy. Goodnight, and good luck -- cvs checkout is racy, it wasn't in the past https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/12230 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
