I just installed the ubuntu (jaunty) proposed ATI proprietary driver on my new w500. It seems to work fine, but when I try to set system>preferences>display to setup a dual monitor (which works when I use the internal graphic card), the "display" toolbox do not appear correctly, and also the screen region of the menubar (on the left) is not displayed correctly (see attached screenshot). I have to force quit the display toolbox to close it.
