Yes it could to be a problem of configuration. A very buggy one :) To be
more precise, the number of missing accents does not seem to be the key
problem. Let's see some short words examples:

suggested words for "tres" (correct word is "très"):
être, tares, tires, tores, tries

"ca" (should suggest "ça"):
cas, car, cal, cap, cab

"elever":
relever, enlever, lever, élever -> this last one is the correct one

As we can see, it seems that an accentuated letter is considered very
(really much) distant from its non-accentuated equivalent (see the
"elever" case). In the case of "tres" though, the first suggested word
contains an accent ! Who can understand that ?

As mentioned before, the command line "aspell -l fr -c test" will
perfectly suggest the correct word as first choice for each of these
test words.

So, I still don't know if this bug should stay here, or be moved to
another place so that the right people can see it... but where ???
