Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Never used linux before...

I installed Ubuntu 6.10 i386 on my computer.
I have 2 hard drives, partitioned like this:
    hda1 swap 512 MB
    hda1 ext3 19 GB /
    hdb1 swap 512 MB
    hdb1 ext3 14 GB /home

After installation was done, I rebooted the computer, removed the CD from the
drive.
Got to login screen. Entered username/password.
After a few seconds got a message box that said something like "You were logged
in for less than 10 seconds. Try one of the failsafe options". Then I was
back at the login screen.

I tried regular login again, using same username/password.
I got the main screen (same as what I got with the Live CD), then two message
boxes showing a crash report. One is for gnome-session, and the other (a few
seconds later) for apport.

** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
