Confirmed. Exactly the same problem. It seems as if the harddisks are shut down before all hibernation info is written to the disks. Upon resume the system just boots as if from a cold start. There is no indication there is anything wrong, and indeed, those two sata errors are not written to the log file.
This is on Ubuntu 8.10 on a Samsung X460 notebook.
