Hello, The available wireless networks are not listed in that window. Simply click (left button) on the network manager icon and there you will see the networks. (See this screenshot : http://www.dedoimedo.com/images/computers/ubuntu-8.10-wireless-4.jpg ). Select the network and it will connect or ask for the password then connect.
