I got frustrated and decided to give Linux Mint a try. So far, I love Linux Mint more than Kubuntu. Now I don't have to worry about manually installing mp3, flash, dvd, support etc. I haven't gotten this error since I switched to Mint. www.linuxmint.com Linux Mint is Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu with 3rd party stuff already added.
