Public bug reported:

Every few days, X crashes without any warning - the screen just goes
black. I think the system is then trying to restart X but fails. The
furthest it gets is to a small dialog that gives options of
troubleshooting the problem, or a couple of other options. I was able to
find out where it put the log (see attached).

This is using the NVIDIA drivers for my widescreen Thinkpad T61p. It's
only happened on Intrepid, to which I upgraded a couple of months ago.

I installed the NVIDIA drivers using EnvyNG originally but they're
updated by Ubuntu now.

[Not sure if I've selected the right package but launchpad wouldn't let
me submit if I picked 'I don't know'.]
