Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase
the try to remove media:/ introduces an important bug. It is not possible to correctly umount a removable device. This is caused by experimental untested patches ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuKDEMedia ) How to reproduce: use up to date edgy with kde configured to display removable devices on the desktop - boot the machine - plug a removable device to a usb port before login - once you're logged in, THERE'S NO ICON on the desktop - unplug then replug the removable device => the ICON APPEARS - logoff - login => A ICON IS DISPLAYED ! BUT IT'S THE WRONG ONE: IT'S A FOLDER ICON AND YOU CAN'T SAFELY UMOUNT THE DEVICE reversing kubuntu_83_media_desktop.diff helps things a bit. ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- CAN'T UMOUNT REMOVABLE MEDIA https://launchpad.net/bugs/78811 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
